this is a great story, well written by the author. however very poorly written by whomever put it in ebook form. so many typos! its as if nobody bothered to proofread it at all. the print book is fine, none of the typos as in this digital version. its subtly infuriating to spend money on something that wasn't done correctly. for the most part its fine, but really, even if it was typed up quickly (if that is in fact how they converted it to ebook form, for i know this book came before the digital era) there is no excuse for how many words are missing letters, incorrect letters used, (a few times where its supposed to be the word 'to' it is 'tc'), or how many words have spaces in the middle. i'm no grammar nazi or anything, but this many mistakes is completely unprofessional. it makes for a very annoying read, which frustrates me because i know how good this book really is. please understand this review is solely for the ebook version. the paperback version is impeccable. Tori Phillips is one of the talents that can pull you into the story as if you're right there watching it happen. her storytelling and character development are excellent. i truly recommend any of her books.Product details

Fool Paradise 1 Harlequin comics eBook Tori Phillips Kazuko Fujita Reviews
This book...was excellent. I loved it, Lady Elizabeth Hayward(Robin) and Dickon were fantastic. Tori Phillips made me feel as if I were Elizabeth
Tori Phillips makes her historical writing debut with a bang! She is a masterful story teller. This book is so fantastic. It provides a wonderful begining to a wonderful career.
The love between Elizabeth and Dickon is so sweet and tender, and even though I always cry at the end, this book lifts my spirits. While there is a bit of intrigue, it isn't a thriller. This book should be read when you want to curl up in a comfy chair on a rainy day and feel warm.
I think this story could have been nicely wrapped up and abouit 50 pages less than it has. It was an interesting "yarn" but was just missing that special something. Not one that's a "keeper" for me. On to the next book!
This was my first book that I read on my own in grammar school an I absolutely loved it! I lost it and was lucky enough to find another paper back! It cute, witty and romantic but nothing too over bearing.
Setting - England 1580's - Under normal circumstances the Lady Elizabeth would not even be aware of Richard Tarleton, famed court jester of her godmother, Queen Elizabeth I - but these were not normal circumstances, as Lady Elizabeth Hayward was fleeing her betrothed, the odious Sir Robert LaFaye from him forcing her to wed him. At Elizabeth's request, her father had agreed to cancel the betrothal but before the proper papers could be signed, her father died and she suspected that Sir Robert had poisoned him. Unfortunately, the horse she was riding threw her and now, alone and on foot, she had nowhere to turn, until she heard a cherry song in the woods. Following the sounds she came upon a naked man finishing up his morning dip.
Tarleton is aware of his good looks and charm is not in the least embarrassed by his attire, or lack thereof, and discovers the story behind the fair Lady Elizabeth's early morning flight. She convinces him to escort her to Hampton Court, summer palace of the Queen, where she can hope to convince her godmother to set aside her betrothal. Tarleton, who also roams around the countryside to gather information for the queen's spymaster, helps her to don a disguise and they set off on a sometimes merry, and sometimes harrowing adventure.
The love between Elizabeth and Dickon is so sweet and tender, even though Tarleton knows the fair lady is so far above him in rank, he being base born, it does not keep him from losing his heart. He recognizes that Elizabeth is falling for him and, realizing what could never be, does his best to discourage her affection. This was in my opinion a really good historical romance. The details of the intrigues of the period were adequate, making it interesting, and the well-developed secondary characters added to the enjoyment. This was quite a good effort for this author's debut novel and one that I can recommend for lovers of romance in the Elizabethan era.
One of the first romance novels I read as a teenager. It took me a couple hours of internet searching to even figure out what the title was! Thankfully my memory of Tarleton and his cutting the Lady's hair brought up a sample of the story. =) Yay for the internet! This is a very sweet story. Exactly what you would expect from a regency romance.
